with winter winding down we too a ride to the queens botanical gardens here in nyc and then over to the roslynn duck pond.

not much to take photos of this time of year so we kind of resorted to anything that made a nice photo.

I really like the water wheel pic Mathjak. The wall and the water falling from the top of the wheel really draw me in. Ive always been fascinated with those old mills and such, we had several back home the use to be wood mills. Nice shot

the wall came out pretty good. the lighting was such that i tried it as an hdr, wasnt happy with that so i tried it as a 5 photo fusion as well, not bad but the normal picture came out the cleanest.

even though i could get the hdr to look just about the same as the origional using tone compressor and not detail enhancer in photomatix the origional had sharper lines in the brick.

as long as the dynamic range of the picture fit in the cameras range i saw no need to go hdr on this one.

the one with the ducks and building is 5 exposures merged. just no way the camera could capture it all and going hdr was a must. my eye had no problem capturing the entire scene but the cameras range just couldnt capture what i could see so it took multiple exposures merged to do what my eye does normally. that scene had every shade from black to white
