Forest Hills is a really nice location and some really cool homes, but when that idiot judge made them merge into Woodland Hills it killed the area as far as being a really good location. Shame it happened to them, but it did. Have a look at that nice video in recent news and that tells all about the Woodland Hills School. Sad, but it is what it is. That merger killed it.

Lived there in the 70's, great apartment. School District is definitely a negative.

Better to live on the side that backs up to Churchill? I ask because there is a beautiful street across Ardmore, backing up to the bad area...Braddock hills... Am I better off up on the hill?

I plan on buying a home in Forest Hills this spring. I also going to visit Drews rest. And the shopping center as well.

Plum, by a mile.

Great school district, very safe, very nice neighborhood.

I vouch for Plum! A casual friend lives there, where he and his wife are raising a kid. Strangers there at the games, or at picnics or whatever are pretty nice. Maybe its how the middle class of Pittsburgh was back decades ago - playing baseball, softball, working class, sane people (for the most part).

Plum, and the area in and around Bridgeville, are refreshing changes of pace than living deep in the city. I am reminded that even teenagers can be nice without being weird or having attitude. Not everyone there has the automatic furrowed brow and stern responses, like they are ticked off all the time.

Plum, then FH and Edgewood. For schools, Plum wins hands down. Downside is living on the wrong side of the Squirrel Tunnels, but unless you work downtown, it shouldn't be a problem.

Some friends of ours just bought a great house in Forest Hills. Went to visit and was amazed by the tree canopy. There's a reason it's called Forest Hills. Beautiful home, beautiful neighborhood, and lots of kids and families. Winding streets with houses perched on hills and broad lawns. The house we visited was built in 1940 and would be impossible to duplicate today for a reasonable price.
