To be fair, to properly illuminate you would require an undertaking more fitting for a Master's thesis.

Wha?? How in the world can you tell me that my observation is "ridiculously inaccurate"? Dude, it's my observation. My opinion. My perspective. You can't argue with that. You have your own and I'm not going to tell you that you're wrong.

It utterly baffles me how people love to argue perspective on here. This forum exists for folks to express their opinions and personal viewpoints. You cannot, as a matter of logic, argue that one person's personal perspective is inaccurate, as if you're the be-all and end-all authority. Geez.

Good point. I keep coming back to the idea that maybe it is not affluence or snootiness that is being critiqued here, but rather suburbia vs. urbia, since many of the negative comments seemed to be based on intuition and perception and not experience (although there are some). I have said it before on this forum- the biggest cultural divide in our society is not race or political stripe, but where and how people choose to live eg. Urban vs. rural or suburban vs. fill in the blank.

The problem with a snooty person is that he/she doesn't realize that there is always another person out there who qualifies as "more snooty".

I think that can be true, but I would note there are a lot of different kinds of suburb (I don't see many people calling Wilkinsburg "snooty"). Still, I'd agree we shouldn't be quick to stereotype entire large communities.

exactly...i'm willing to bet the majority of people living in USC are good folks, just going through life like everyone else...and those are the folks that probably couldn't care less about what other people think of them...

i think those people that are calling USC folks snooty probably should invest more time in themselves...you do your thing, and they'll keep doing their thing.
