Any in Pittsburgh? A good number? Certain locations/streets?

Anyone have any to recommend that may be in the same place frequently?

There are ordinances against it in many places but you can almost always find the same few just off Fifth Ave across from Soldiers & Sailors in Oakland. Chinese, Thai, and Indian.

Carnegie Mellon has about 5-6 food trucks always in the same spot - on Margaret Morrison Street right off of Forbes. My personal favorite is Sree's Indian food, though the Thai places are pretty good as well. Sree's is only open from about 11:30 - 2:30 each day; the other trucks are usually open till dinner, with one or two later for evening students.

Sree's is incredible, and has a devoted following.

My cousin (a devout foodee) raves about Sree's. I've never had their food but I should really seek it out.

Traveling on Forbes from Downtown towards Squirrel Hill. After you pass the sculpture of people walking up a pole at CMU, it's the next right - after the garage and field.

i've never been to their cart, just the downtown and squirrel hill locations, but i find sree's fairly unremarkable, and i love south indian food, and indian food in general. it's a great deal for the money since it's like 2 1/2 meals worth of food for 5 bucks, but it really doesn't blow me away.

you can do much, much better when it comes to indian in pittsburgh (udipi and tamarind come to mind), although maybe not from a food cart.

I like Sree's, and their food is very well-priced, but the Indian cart at Pitt (on Bigelow, across from Soldiers & Sailors) has better offerings. They let you customize the spice level and the food is cooked to order. Very delicious stuff.
