I didn't catch this until recently, but Zombie Fest, including the Zombie Walk, is this Sunday, 12-8, in Market Square:

Zombie Fest has traditionally been held at the Monroeville Mall (if you have to ask . . .), but the second article suggests the event got too big for the Mall, which is why it is going to be in Market Square.

I know some people have been disappointed that the renovated Market Square doesn't have a more interesting built environment, but hosting this sort of event (in addition to loungers and walkers and such) is what the new Square is all about, and I'm very pleased Downtown is the venue. Now I just have to figure out if we dare to bring out four-year-old . . .

Interesting considering the talk about the decline of Monroeville Mall.

Supposedly, I heard it was moved because the event got too rowdy last year and mall management decided that they had enough, which sucks because despite the crowds, the mall was being noticed in a different light.

What a shame that they are not able to have it at Monroeville Mall, the sight of the filming of 'Dawn of the Dead' 1978.

DH and I were invited to go with friends from Dagorhir to ZombieFest, but we were just too busy. So, I'm hoping to see tons of photos from our friends, who are also professional makeup artists.

blessings, Shen

So we ended up doing a quick walk-through since we were Downtown anyway today and it was right on our way (hopefully it was quick enough to be fun and not nightmare-inducing). It was pretty darn cool to see Market Square full of zombies, with more seemingly converging slowly from every direction.

As a followup, over 4800 zombies attended, retaking the record from Seattle:

Market Square Pittsburgh: Zombies Invade Market Square

Some pretty awesome pictures at that link (not for the squeamish).
