Better than ever too. I always enjoy going to Kennywood. For some reason the rollercoaster people always make it a point to go there too. They still have the original Thunderbolt, the Racer, and the Jack Rabbit. I think the Steel Phantom might now be called the Phantom's Revenge. The park is worth the trip home.

That's probably why the coaster folks go there -- to take in the old-school vintage stuff. Too many of those have been cleared out at other parks to make way for bigger better faster loopier stuff. Hell, I bet those coasters are older than 90% of today's amusment parks.

Kennywood has changed a lot but it's still a great historic park. Definitely worth coming back to it. Sadly the ferris wheel is gone, but other than that I think the changes have been for the best.

My goodness, people are quick to reply! Most definitely Kennywood is still there! I try to go once every year or every other year when I get back "home" to Pittsburgh. They've moved some of the rides around, making "Old Kennywood" in the back of the park, and sadly the ferris wheel is gone, but it is still a great place to go. You really get the most bang from your buck there too--not overly priced like most amusement parks.

Speaking of 'do you remember'... Does anyone remember West View Park or... White Swan Park??

We had our yearly school picnic at West View. We loved it.

You talking about those individual swings on chains that went round and round? Those were so cool.

For some reason my friends and I hit the fish pond first all the time... where you stuck your hand down a hole and pulled up a wet rubber duckie with a number on his butt to win a prize...
