We are considering buying a new house in the area. The house is part of the Fox Chapel school district and it's new, otherwise we don't know much about the area. Can anyone help.

I cannot comment on that specific area, but I can say that Fox Chapel School District is routinely considered one of the best in the area.

I live north of Fox Chapel and it is a great district. I have friends whose kids go to the school and they really enjoy it. The website is below for the school; you can find information on their average SAT scores, school mission and more. Let me know if you have any specific questions and I can ask them.

Where in Indiana Township? Indiana Township has some very nice areas. Overall, it is a pretty good area. The one potential downside is that parts of it are fairly isolated making a commute to town pretty tough.

It is a bit away from things but a nice area. We lived there for a short period when we first moved to the area. To get to a littel store was a 5 mile trip where we were. Only didn't stay because we have a disabled son who does not drive and needed to be within walking distance of some places he could work. As mentioned the school district is very good.

I worked on the South Side of Pittsburgh when I worked there and could get to work in 30-45 minutes depending on traffic. But that was before the mess of 28 started.

Thanks everyone this is really helpful. I am sure that Fox Chappel is one of the best school districts but the area did feel isolated and a bit away from everything. The house we're thinking of buying is still on a short list of places.

Thanks again
