Just wondeing if there were any more development plans for East Liberty other than Target (especially in the business district.)

So they are supposed to reconfigure more of the streets back to two-way, and then redevelop the bus loop into something like the Eastside development (with parking and retail). They are also planning to launch a second phase of the new retail/apartment complex on the other end of Penn, this time on the south side.

I also think they are still looking at doing something with the Highland Building, but I haven't heard anything lately.

I would love to see more Bistro style resturants in Central East Liberty with those nice wide sidewalks on Penn Av, or even in the Broad Street Mall as a complete pedestrian plaza like it once was......I imagine E Liberty as being the perfect CBD to spend your weekend mornings/afternoons

I agree. I was just at the CVS in E. Liberty and Penn Avenue has incredibly wide sidewalks - perfect for outdoor dining. There are a few local stores in those blocks and I'd like to see some entrepreneurs open up some small cafes or restaurants.

I think once they are done reconfiguring the streets, and there are also more residential units in the core area, there will likely be an explosion of such places.

I think E Liberty could also use a Mega Plex across Highland from Home Depot....To help it become more of a Weekend Destination

They need to get rid of those HOOD stores or have the owners enforce NO LOITERING and clean up that block, on North Highland, where the Penn-Highland News & Capi Pizza are located. Still too many crackheads and dealers lurkin' around...

Is a Mega Plex a movie theatre?

Yes - Any chance of restoring the Broad Street Mall to what it once was they would indeed have to vacate.
