It's certainly a choice. I could understand choosing living in Sewickley anyway, despite the commute drawback. But you certainly have to weigh it. Particularly with the Ambridge bridge closure the additional total time if commuting at rush hour is a lot more than 12 minutes (don't forget to add both directions of commute). At rush it can take more than 12 minutes just to get across the bridge one way, not counting any extra commute driving before or after the bridge.

It really depends. The OP here didn't share a lot about reasons for choosing a place to live other than workplace location. So if proximity to the city or other such things are important those have to be added as well. But if (as i think I said before) you're just looking at typical suburban apartments anyway, it may not be compelling to live in Sewickley. If you're looking to live in downtown Sewickley then perhaps that's different.

I thought there would be more in the Beaver County Times, but this was the only one.

HOPEWELL - Easy access to 60. Independence Square. 2 bedroom, 1 1/2 bath, all appliances, clean carpet, painted walls, pets ok, $840 + utilities. 412-264-5730
.Categories:Real Estate-Rent, Townhouses & Condos for Rent

This is the page it came from.

Classifieds - Beaver County Times & Allegheny Times Online - Search

I take that back. There are two more. The one in Center is between Hopewell, and the Beaver Valley Mall. The one in Hanover sounds like it is near route 30 by Raccoon State Park. They are all as close to the airport as Sewickley.

The only things important are closer to airport area (less than 30 min commute) and nice living. Our kid is already in college outside the state and we do not need good schools. Our preference is suburban.

You should be fine over there in Moon/Robinson area then, long as you're fine driving everywhere. Sure, you can also look up in Beaver County along I-376. The 2 full bath thing seems to be a limiting factor. Should be available in some newer apartments like Ventana Hills that you've found (that's actually one of the newer ones around, I think about 10-15 years ago), but a lot of earlier ones may not have such a config. In some cases looking for a 3BR may be more likely to net you the extra bath and still be in your price range, but it varies.

Don't overlook somewhere like Crafton or perhaps parts of Kennedy Township which could be well within commute range. These go closer to the city vs farther away but just to give you some other ideas. Also places to the south can work, Oakdale, something like that. But if you like Ventana Hills, I'm not sure there's anything wrong with it, such as it is (a suburban apartment complex).

Nice living, and 30 minutes to the airport screams Chippewa.

I clock out at 7 AM, walk to my car, wipe off windows, and leave airport property by 7:12. During the week I hit the Chippewa exit at 7:30. On the weekend I hit the exit at 7:20, and I'm crossing the State line at 7:30.

It would be helpful if we knew which side of the airport you will be working on. It makes a difference.

I will be working in a company right off of 376 on the west end of the airport. I think 30 mins is a reasonable drive time from there to many apartment complexes around there, and a few minutes over 30 should be fine too.
