No I didn't. I'm not really a fan, but I figure I'd post since he hasn't been in Pittsburgh for a while.

I saw Elton John in 1972 at Ohio State on the Madman tour. My girlfriend and I drove there from here, and when we came home late, late, late that night, I told her I liked boys. Elton was in no way "out" at the time. Just a coincidence. Anyway, that's what I think of when I think of Elton John in concert.

I'll buy a ticket if he promises to cover "Black and Yellow".

Thank you. I had never fallen in love, so I thought someday, I would finally like girls, and fall in love with one and get married and have kids, etc., etc., etc. Then my girlfriend brought over one of her school friends and I fell in love with him. He had so many qualities I like in a person. I'd always known I was attracted to guys, but this time I fell in love with one--straight, unfortunately.

I saw him some years ago in Pittsburgh (1995 I think it was). I don't remember the name of his tour.

Now I love Elton John but he was a complete and utter letdown for me. I had built up his songs so much in my mind that I couldn't believe he let me down! Benny and the Jets was a flat song without my beloved "Benny! Benny! Benny and the Jetttttssss!" in a high octave (he didn't hit any high notes in the song), and he never sang my all-time favorite song, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, but IIRC he sang Circle of Life two times.

Ever since then I've been scared to see him in concert because his performance was so lackluster and against everything I thought to be true about his concerts (sequins, wild antics, comments, and amazing voice/lyrics) that I didn't want to waste my money. I hope that 15 years later his performance has increased and not gotten worse! This time I hope he rocks Pittsburgh! He is the Queen *****!
