Not only is it blasphemy but if any team or representative thereof desecrates the infamous gold towel they will become cursed.

Look what happened to both The Bengals and The Titans. They suffered the wrath and wound up paying dearly for what they did to the towel.

I happened to be working at Allegheny Valley School the day that the representative from The Titans came up from Nashville and presented the school with a Terrible Towel signed by the team. It was brought in hopes of lifting the curse of that long horrible losing streak the Titans had that was brought on by desecrating the towel in the first place.

It worked! That very Sunday,The Titans won!! LOL!!

I believe Myron Cope's spirit lives on in the Towel and he continues to guard it. People don't realize how much good the sale proceeds of the towel provides for those residents on campus at Allegheny Valley School.

I disagree, Myron originally said any black or gold towel could be used. He only made it official for charity purposes. Do you really think Myron would be upset if someone used a regular towel, I think not, he was a regular guy.

I agree. It was cool to turn it into a charity thing, but I don't think that was supposed to be obligatory.

LOL, a Wisconsin company makes the Terrible Towel (along with many other such towels) and the owner is a Packers fan, of course.

Pittsburgh Steelers' Terrible Towel maker is a Green Bay Packers fan | PennLive.com
