Your own place.

No, well, it's only one game so you won't have to worry about anywhere not showing it. I can't tell you where you're likely to be more than the only Packers fan. But safely? I can't figure out why this comes up. As long as you don't go into some dive you'll be fine. Try more upscale bars, I dunno, and if you want it to be less likely to be packed with Steelers fans and more likely to have someone at least not cheering for the Steelers, a hotel bar is always a good bet, though it probably won't have the same kind of energy.

Now "safely" is one thing, smack-talk-free would be quite another. If you're in a bar full of Steelers fans with a Packers jersey on, expect to be the target for ridicule whenever your team screws up or the Steelers do well. There could be some anger if the Steelers lose, but not something that should make you fear for your safety. I can't promise you won't run into some a-holes, because there can always be a few a-holes.

This place out in Robinson was found to be a bit of a haven for out-of-town fans during the season, which may make it more likely that you'll get non-Steelers fans in there for the SB. Robinson All Star Sports Bar & Grill, Robinson, PA, Pittsburgh, Mall at Robinson, Route 60, Moon, Crafton

^ Thanks a lot man- I think avoiding South Side would be a good idea to. Steelers have a great fan base and should be respectful when I do the same.

Yeah, avoiding South Side definitely would be a good idea.

I am a Packer fan, but I am staying home. It is not because I am afraid. I just want to watch the game & I am too old to hang out at a bar!

Silky's in Squirrel Hill gets a decent number of out of town fans, and in general doesn't have the sort of crowd likely to get TOO obnoxious.

A bar in the Greenfield neighborhood maybe? I'm just thinking thinking that there may be one there where friends of the McCarthy's might gather. Or at least the area, while probably rooting for the Steelers, is likely to be very Green Bay friendly as the home of their coach.

I can't stress this enough. Dumbest thing I ever did...

Two years ago, I had a party for the last game of the Stanley Cup when the Penguins beat the Red Wings. I don't wear a lot of sports gear and happened to be wearing a red polo shirt. (I'm a Pens fan!) After the game, and a couple hours of beer drinking, I rushed out of the house to the Southside without thinking about the RED shirt I was sporting. I almost got hands put on me!

Greenfield is a pretty good suggestion. Mike McCarthy's dad used to own a bar down in the run called Chasers. It's a dive, but is still open and might be a decent place for you to check out.

Cool- good idea on Greenfield. I'll check out Casers. Does anyone know anything about Hough's?

I could see Fox putting up a TV in one of the Steelers-Greenfield bars to augment a story about McCarthy's home neighborhood.
