Looking for a place to get a really good fish sandwich for lunches during lent.

I can't think of anything other than the fast food places up here.

Thanks!
Ray

Need to try that. Never heard of it until now. Cool, thanks.

Unless my google-fu is out of whack he means Willees Tavern which is on Babcock at Mars-Valencia road and really is not quite Wexford but then off the top of my head I can't think of anything more traditionally Wexford (say, in the Flats on 19) that would be worth recommending.

If you need something more in that area, I know Blue Water Tavern (in the plaza next to the big round church across from Sheetz) has a fish sandwich on the menu, but I don't know if it's any good. I've eaten in there once and that isn't what I had. http://eatbluewater.com/

There's also Totin's Diner near NA high school. Never been but they have a fish sandwich. http://www.totinsdiner.com/

All I got off the top of my head. Maybe a church or two around there that might do a fry during lent but you have to find out their schedules.

The Brush Creek Inn is just of 19 along the Red Belt in Warrendale, pretty good food.

Even better! Just keep on rattling off places, please, so I can add them to the list to try. That one is closer to home. I've driven by there (by accident, not really thinking that could be a dead end road) but that was several years ago and never really knew what was there. Promptly forgot about it.

Default Willees

Unless there is another Willee's in the North Hills, the only Willees that I know of is in Gibsonia, a couple miles from Pine-Richland High School. From route 19, you would probably be looking at about a 15-20 minute drive.

Yeah, Willees (supposedly no apostrophe, LOL) is varyingly Gibsonia or Valencia depending upon source. It was mentioned in this article a few years ago about Valencia Tiny Valencia, Butler County, is more than just a ZIP code In there he says the menu says Gibsonia, but technically it's in Pine Township (that ol' zip code thing) not Richland. But it's right next to Valencia too. It's really not that confusing, just drive out Babcock or Warrendale-Bakerstown Rd to Babcock.

Not quite Wexford, but North Hills anyway is Kretzlers Tavern on Babcock. It is one of the best I have had anywhere.

I don't think they serve fish sandwiches at the post office. You'd have better luck finding one in McCandless, Franklin Park, or Pine or Marshall Townships.
