My fiancee and I are looking into renting out some type of mansion or church in the Pittsburgh area to have our wedding and reception at, but the only ones we've found are at least $5000. Are there any mansions or nicer locations like that in the $1000 or under price range? And what would be some nice churches? We've found cheaper churches, but we would kind of prefer the mansion or fancier location. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

If you or your fiancee or any of your immediate family members are Pitt students, alumni, staff, faculty, or board members, or Heinz employees, you can reserve Heinz Chapel for your wedding for $850. For prime dates you pretty much have to reserve a year in advance, though. Heinz Memorial Chapel - Weddings at Heinz Memorial Chapel

Heinz Chapel isn't going to work if they want the reception there, too.

OP, you and your fiancee need to decide if you want dirt cheap or fancy. If you are working with a low budget, you're going to have to make sacraficees. Not only do you want some place to hold your ceremony, but you want your reception there, too. How far from the city are you willing to go? How many people does it need to hold?

What about food? Are you looking at somewhere to provide the catering for that price, too, or are you seperately engaging a caterer?

This is a great little place, you can have the wedding there as well. Not sure about costs.

Have a good old-fashioned fire hall wedding. Just be sure to insure the tuxes.

a lot is gonna depend on number of guests, time of year, and day of week as far as a location in your price range. if you can do it during the week instead of weekend you can probably save about half. realize this is not always convenient for guests.

have you checked out buhl mansion in sharon, pa?

Number of guests is probably 100 max, probably closer to 75. Wedding date is August 19th of this year, a Friday. We're getting the food from elsewhere. And distance doesn't matter much. We don't really care, as long as it's within reason, which I would say a few hours away. And thanks for the suggestions so far. Keep them coming. Much appreciated!
