In response, the town will pass a law requiring silencers.

Swissvale is so low class it should be worse than it is.

Well, as long as the city attracts more and more working professionals, the lower economic class is naturally going to keep getting pushed out into the first-ring burbs and taking their culture and habits with them. It's the same thing our city-dwelling ancestors dealt with during the original white flight in reverse. Just ask anyone who bought a house in Penn Hills or Carrick a couple decades ago.

Though the anecdote at the end of the article about the Earps causing the OK Corral incident by trying to enforce a gun ordinance is good food for thought. The author does a good job of not confusing a culture problem with a gun problem.

I love how the person complaining about people engaged in gang activity are carrying guns as if they were following whatever laws were already in place.

Protip: If someone's committing a crime, they're not likely to follow whatever restrictions are in place for the items they're using. Sort of the default status for CRIMINAL BEHAVIOR.

Which doesn't really address the question of whether those parts are within range of the parts that aren't fine...

Most of the borough is well within range of platoon support weapons, artillery and air ground support missions.

The nicest part is that odd little corner of Swissvale-in-Regent-Square, stranded across the 376 from the rest of the borough and constituting 97.8% of the borough's tax base. The next-nicest part is the residential district north of McClure Ave, which is a sort of oversized suburban cul-de-sac wedged between Frick Park and the Mon River. The rest of the borough is free-fire.

No stopping it. Harlem was a really bad area in NYC, but it is so different now. I just was there a few weeks ago coming from LGA on a bus transfer and was amazed how that area has changed from 20 years ago when I cruised through it in my car. Same thing will at some point happen to E. Liberty. Can't wait.
