I just noticed TODAY as I got back from work with the way the sun was angled that the huge hail dented the roof of my precious Mazda3 in several places.

Funny, I just noticed today that my trusty old 98 Outback was shining like I just washed it. (Whereas a normal storm would usually leave behind some griminess.) I'm sure up close it acquired some new marks though. They'll complement the old ones nicely.

Bummer. When they were talking hail here I pondered taking my car to work and leaving it in the parking garage. Fortunately that wasn't necessary.

They're not Earth-shattering dents. I have two small dents near the front-right part of my roof. Meh.

The most surprising thing about the whole day is that the windsheild in my Jeep is only about a week old, and the biggest hail I saw was only pea-sized. Usually brand new glass attracts golf ball size and larger...

I think the hail got bigger just after it passed over where I was, or I just missed the biggest pieces, or something. I was pulling out of the garage onto Stanwix and that second dose of hail was coming down. But I'm pretty sure there are no new dents. I actually said well, the car is 11 years old, I'm not that concerned. If I had a newer car, I think I'd have wanted to back up! (There were cars waiting behind me though.)

Even the little pieces are crazy loud in the car though. Sheesh.
