No, they were in middle America. The Pittsburgh Indians were the Iroquois, Lenape, and Shawnees.

Thanks; I know that, but those tribes were the first that came to mind.

My biggest problem is which Indian restaurant to go to....there are too many good ones near me. I mean, do I take a cheaper meal that doesn't serve enough to have leftovers, or an incredible meal that is small enough that I never have anything left for the next day?

See? Big problem...

I've never noticed any particular problems with Indians or any negative reaction towards them.

I'm curious as to why you ask, OP. Have you been exposed to some sort of negativity?

I went to the Indian buffet for lunch today. While the food in general was delicious, I had to wait 10 minutes for the Nan to be brought out onto the buffet table. That was kind of a problem, I guess, because then I felt compelled to eat more yummy rice and tikka masala to go with the tardy Nan, and now I'm too full.

Other than that I haven't had any recent problems with Indians in Pittsburgh.

Which Indian restaurant has a buffet? I'd love to try it. A buffet would be a great way to sample some entrees I haven't tried.

Years ago, I worked one cubicle away from someone like this, only from Pakistan. The real problem was that he never washed his clothes. For years, I avoided Indian food, anything "curry," and especially cumin, because of this stenchosaurus. And the memory hasn't gone away, not completely. I actually thought of this guy while making Chicken Tikka Masala the other night.

However, I find the dryer sheet stench wafting off too many Americans just as offensive. And then there's the whole perfume and cologne issue.

They have one at Coriander in Squirrel Hill, Tamarind on N. Craig in Oakland, and one whose name I don't remember on 5th Ave near the Pitt Towers/UPMC.

There's also what's supposed to be a good one across Penn Ave from Children's Hospital. Haven't been there.

A lot of the buffets are only at lunch. Taj Mahal is usually good.

Well, I can't find any who will give me a decent qeema tawa recipe.

And they give me weird looks when I ask for silverware.
