Looking for suggestions on a good photographer in the Pittsburgh area for around $800 or less for a wedding in Ohiopyle, PA. Thanks!

I'd hate to be the bearer of bad news but wedding photographers have to be the most weaselly professionals I've ever encountered, and they're all outrageously expensive. If you find one for under $2000 then you lucked out. If you do see someone advertising for less beware that you are likely not getting the copyrights. Yes, this may be hard to believe, but by default you don't own the rights to your own wedding photographs. Without the copyrights you cannot get prints made and the photographer will likely not even give you the original JPEGs( or negatives if they still use film). If you do get the negatives you also need a letter stating that your are the copyright holder, otherwise no one will develop your prints. This includes all of the big box stores like Walmart, Costco, etc. I would recommend the two guys we used for our wedding five years ago, but they were about three times your target price.

That seems absurd. I'm not paying anything close to 2 grand for pictures. There has to be someone that takes good quality pictures for around $800. I still think that's too much to be honest.

You want quality, pay for it. Or have your cousin "who is really good with a camera", do the work.

If you think that is bad, wait until you start getting quotes for flowers and center pieces. I could have had my entire yard re-landscaped for less than the price we paid for our very average wedding flowers. The entire wedding industry is a big scam.

I've said it once, and I'll say it again. Have a good ole' hunky firehall wedding where everyone gets loaded, the groom has to fight his way thru the door to the bride, and a good time is had by all. Should set you back about 9 hundo. Just don't forget to invite me!

Just put Instamatic cameras on all the tables, should only cost about 100 bucks.

We did that as well. Got some good pictures but a lot of bad ones as well. About 20% were pictures of peoples feet, the ceiling, their own face, etc. I think most of the users had never used a real film camera before, or forgot how they worked.

Went to a wedding (Outdoor and warm!) where they put cameras on all the tables. The adult guests forgot about them after one or two pics.... but the kids got their hands on them.

The bride and groom (very unconventional, thank heavens) had the wedding album with the pro pics.... and then the album with the bellies and butts. She loved showing the pics the kids took....

I'd find some decent family member that could take lots of pics. That's what we did. Maybe it's just us not being sentimental, but after a few years we didn't really care about the wedding pics. We had the cake smash pic on the wall, but we were in jeans and it wasn't very wedding-y. And we tired of it and took it down.

And we've been married for nearly 30 years.

You have a pretty tall task. You want a cheap wedding photographer who is willing to drive to Ohiopyle? Probably not going to happen.
