I'm not familiar with any of these, but here's a list of some flower events in the US: TOP FLOWER EVENTS USA Flower events and festivals across America A lot of their onward links are wrong, LOL, but the events all still exist so just do a search.

There's a big tulip festival in Holland, Michigan. Tulip Time Festival | May 7-14 2011 I don't know if they have fields quite like the Skagit Valley, of course. The one that looks most interesting to me, though, is the lupine festival in New Hampshire. Franconia Notch Chamber of Commerce : Lupine Festival In this case it's a wildflower instead of a cultivated one.

There's a big indoor flower show in Philly every March. Philadelphia International Flower Show (http://www.theflowershow.com/home/index.html - broken link)

For flowers in Pittsburgh, there is Phipps Conservatory Pittsburgh Attractions | Phipps Conservatory This I am very familiar with. We usually hold a membership and go multiple times a year.
