My wife and I are looking for some pretty places to ride in the pitts area.
Also we were wondering if there were any nice groups or clubs that go on trips through out the year.
Were new in town so it would be great to have some contacts. Please let me know. thanks

Have you tried hopping on to Rt 40 and riding up in to the mountains towards Fort Necessity National Battlefield, and the Farmington area?

Beautiful country up there.

Nice escape during the really warm summer months too.

Found it!

Go here. There's three local loops. The Laurel Highlands Rt's are a local favorite.

Take a ride out Saxonburg Boulevard. It is one lane each way and winds through a narrow valley, so you can't be a speed demon. But it is a pleasant ride through the Western Pennsylvania's countryside.

Rides on motorcycles in this area are okay, but there are too many deer and too many people texting and talking on cell phones. I think the days of riding motorcycles and enjoying are hampered by the elements. The deer where one thing, but the texting and cell phone use make it pretty much a waste of time. Bicycling is pretty bad these days as well. Saw several deer tonight. None crossed my path, but they often do.
