If you have 2 or more vehicles, you get the space in front of your house and park in one of the other available spaces that don't inconvenience a home owner.

It's been working for over 50 years.
To me, that would make on-street parking much more bearable. If I had a "reserved" on-street spot, there wouldn't be an issue. On my street, however, if Neighbor 2 decides to have a party they can grab all the parking on the street at once, if things play out that way, and I'm left to park in the unknown!

I'm the OP for this thread. I have another parking related question.

There's been a van on my street, parked in the same spot for over 2 months now. It has a handicapped placard hanging from the mirror, but it's not in a handicapped spot. It also has 2 flat tires. Once again, the van has remained, in the spot, untouched for over 2 months. Is there anything that can be done about this to free up this valuable parking spot, or am I SOL? Anyone I can call to have it towed or is this piece of junk parked, fair game?

I'll NEVER live anywhere again where on-street parking is my only option. Ahh!

If you're in the city, call 311 with a description of the van and a location. Someone from parking enforcement will come check.
