Eh, you're somewhat right but that isn't the whole story. There are many scientific studies that place one race above or below another on a genetic level. Does that mean that certain scientific studies such as this one cause everyone involved to be racists?

That article is total BS.

I agree, I was just using it as an example of how pointing out differences in genetics (whether good or bad) isn't exactly racist. Plus it was in the news yesterday so it was easy to come by.

I don't think not knowing this makes a person inherently racist, but I think it is worth noting that the human "races" as conventionally defined really aren't meaningful biological units (they aren't well-defined subspecies, genetic subpopulations, or so on). In that sense race is a social, not biological, concept.

That's not to say there are no such things as human subspecies, genetic subpopulations, and so on. It just means the conventional "races" don't really serve that purpose. As a result, if you want to have a well-informed and accurate discussion about genetic variation between human beings, it is really best to just dump the conventional races entirely.

I was listening to Marty Griffin's show on KDKA yesterday, and heard an interesting (supposed) fact, from a caller. I don't personally recall this, but the caller said that when Sophie was running against Frank Lucchino, her negative ads featured, as the background music, the theme from The Godfather.

Kind of interesting in light of what we've discussed here in reference to prejudice and voter behavior...
