I agree. I think Three PNC has been instrumental to the revitalization going on in Market Square, which is already spreading up Forbes and Fifth. This project should help accelerate those dynamics.

You'd think, since we are all in the great state of Pennsylvania, that we would be proud of any development like this in our state, regardless of which city it belongs to. Pittsburgh and Philly are both awesome PA cities and do not need to compete.

Totally agree. Philly should be loving the fact that Pittsburgh is revitalizing, since it gives it a natural partner in the state (which it very much needs).

Yea, the letters of PNC haven't meant anything in many years. Same as PPG which stood for Pittsburgh Plate Glass a long time ago but collapsed that to just the letters about forty years ago.

They could elevate it a great deal more to remove any doubt. How about a "greenhouse" spire with levels of indoor plants? Make it "green" to the max.

Honestly, in all the years I've lived in western PA. I've never felt any connection to Philly or any place east of the Allegheny mountains. They might as well be another state.

I feel the same exact way.

They should at least make it a bit taller than PPG to top out at third place on the skyline. I think the greenhouse in the sky plus a combined observatory deck could be added as a public attraction for a nominal admission fee.

Sometimes it's because they are national or multinational and don't want to appear to the locals as an "outsider".

I hear Zeppelins are a green technology. Maybe they could add a Zeppelin mast.
