In my many post centered on crime/gangs/"da hood," I've posted lil bits and pieces of the results of Pittsburgh's Homicide Maps. Here are the results for the past 3.5yrs... *Note I only featured the rough neighborhoods in Allegheny County, and so: NOT ALL NIEGHBORHOODS ARE ON THIS LIST...

East End: 75
Homewood: 22
Wilkinsburgh: 17
Bad parts of Penn Hills: 10
East Liberty: 8
Larimer: 5
Garfield: 5
Licoln-Lemington-Belmar: 5
East Hills: 3

Upper Mon Valley: 48
McKeesport: 21
Duquense: 14
Clairton: 7
North Versailles: 4
West Mifflen (Midway Drive): 2

Hill District/West Oakland: 32
Terrace Village: 15
Bedford Dwellings: 9
Middle Hill: 6
Crawford Roberts Hill: 1
West Oakland: 1

Northside: 25
Perry South: 9
Northview Heighs: 5
Finview (Allegheny Dwellings Housing Projects): 3
Central Northside: 3
Marshall-Shadeland: 2
Manchester: 1
California-Kirkbride: 1
East Allegheny: 1

Southern Hilltop Communities & Baldwin: *23
Beltzhoover: 6
Mt. Oliver Borough: 4
Knoxville: 3
St. Clair Village: 3
Arlington: 2
Arlington Heights: 1
Mt. Oliver: 1
Allentown: 1
Carrick: 1
Baldwin (Leland Pointe Apartments): 1

Hoods near the Waterfront: 13
Hazelwood: 7
Homestead: 5
Glen Hazel: 1
South Oakland: 0

Westside: 12
Sheraden: 6
McKees Rocks: 3
Crafton Heights (Greenway Projects): 2
Fairywood: 1

Mon River/ Woodland Hills Towns: 10
North Braddock: 5
Swissvale: 3
Braddock: 1
Rankin: 1

*I'm guessing 40%-60% of the homicides are gang/drug/robbery related... Often they seem like simple human disputes that were escalated to shooting/stabbing. I included the death: by spouse, caretaker, and death by baby sitter aswell.
Color Code??? Cripz, Darccide are blue, Bloods are red, Convicts are green, LAWs, OGz, Eastwood Boyz, Lincoln Park Gangstas, Hoodtown Mafia, Swissvale G's are black, Tre 8s, McKees Rocks Goons are white (in this case gray), not 100% sure/unknown to me are orange,

The color coding for gangs was an interesting touch.

Good job. I don't have patience for maps only with no text details. This makes more sense.

Uptown, you should get a criminal justice degree and get into some field in crime reporting/prevention/education or something like that. You seem to gravitate to this and you can make a living at it.

That's an excellent idea, curtis. Uptown clearly is passionate about this issue and he has natural analytical talent.

Although a double major or minor in criminal justice would be more appropriate to target the type of job he would prefer.

Can I print this? I don't get anyone saying that to me very often and would like to post it on my fridge.

Thanx, Thanx... It wasn't hard... Open multiple tabs on the laptop, record the dots, double check, organize the collected data in a numerical order with a color code scheme... Pretttttty easyyyyyy... I plan to refer to someting this in future post answering questions bout crime/how bad an area is...
To tell the truth I was surprised with McKeesport, I've looked at the maps before, but when adding everything up...

The hot spots are:
North Charles Street in Perry South, near I-79 Perry South, Northview Heights, Allegheny Dwellings, Sheraden east of the park, McKees Rocks by Thrid Street Park,
Beltzhoover, Mt Oliver's Brownsville Road, Upper Knoxvile
McKeesport, Duquense near Grant Street, by the river in Clairton,
Elmore Squre in Terrace Village, Chuancey Drive in Bedford Dwellings, side streets off Centre & Webster Middle Hill,
Homewood boardering Lincoln-Lemington, Homewood east of North Homewood Ave, Frankstown Road Penn Hills, Wilkinsburg in or close to Montier St & Franklin Avenue, Larimer-Larimer, Garfield Heights, East Liberty north of Staton Ave close to Penn Ave, Hazelwood south of Hazelwood Ave,
North Braddck close to Jones Ave, and Swissvale close to S Braddock Ave,

I wonder what the cause of the shooting in Sharpsburg was.

Figured it out. It was an ex-boyfriend vs current boyfriend type shooting.

It would really help to turn these into crime rates of some sort (say per 1000 residents or something).
