You just described a hundred places around Pittsburgh, was it a bar, a snack and pack type place, a distributor, a micro brewery, asking that is like asking," what is the name of that restaurant around Lancaster, PA with the Amish statue in front of it?" you have to be more precise there is plenty of little places in strip malls in the area that sells beer, so more info would be a help like other places you remember seeing some unique landmarks even a sign or route numbers? anything or else everyone is going to be grasping at straws to help you.

Yep, has to be as there are no others I can think of in a strip mall between West Mifflin and South Park.

It is beside what use to be "Value City" in the Curry Hollow Shopping Center. They carry all types of beer, pop, snacks, cigarettes, etc.

Yep, they have some of the best prices in the Burgh for cases. They have lots of good specials too.

Duffy's is pretty good for cases. However, I would advise that you look at the dates on the cases as many are very old. For some beers this could be a plus, but for others not so much.

Very true, skunky beer is something to avoid. I have to admit, as much as I HATE the PLCB, that the selection of beers in those Giant Eagles and Shop n' Saves that sell it, is pretty good. A bit pricy, but better than buying a whole case, and then not liking the beer.
However, as far as those absurd, only in Pennsylvania, Rube Goldbergesque " Wine Kiosks" go, what carbon-based lifeform came up with that travesty??

I posted a video of that on another forum that had members from all over the country as well as Europe and Asia. Everyone's reaction was the same: "WTF is that!?!?". Only in PA!

What's the connection to PLCB? True, at a distance PLCB regulates beer sales in PA, but they're not directly in the beer biz. (Just curious what you meant, but I agree with the general sentiment - I HATE the PLCB too!)

A bit, when compared to typical beer-distrib prices per 24 case - but of course, anyone who crosses the state line knows that beer sold in grocery stores in free states is cheaper, so it's clear that the supermarket prices here are being artificially maintained by the beer-distrib oligopoly.

Someone needs to file a Sunshine Law request, get ahold of all the relevant papers, and write a book tracing the evolution of that project through what I am sure were thousands of committee meetings, briefings, memos, power-point presentations and working groups. It would probably become an instant classic in the study of bureaucratic idiocy.
