That was my screen name on FishErie because of my knowledge and love of fishing Eastern Erie County. Anyone who is afraid of being on the east side of the City of Erie is a complete baby.

I suppose so. We laugh at anyone who says its boring in Pittsburgh, if you can't find something to do in Pittsburgh, you have no life. There is admittedly less to do in Erie, but if you have even a faint pulse you can find something to enjoy.

I love Erie, I make several weekend trips up there every year. I'll be going in two weeks. The Pufferbelly is an awesome restaurant, one of my favorites. I also enjoy JR's, also known as the Sloppy Duck. Great food and great views of the sunset.

Is it the giant Lake and the fact that it is in Northwest PA?

Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Good seeing pics of my family's hometown. Most of 'em are still up there and I'll probably be visiting again this year. Still prefer Pittsburgh but Erie has lot of amenities for sure.

Funny you say that. I used to live on West 6th St. by Walnut, worked downtown and often traveled via Parade St. to Wattsburg, Wesleyville, and Harborcreek, and occasionally walked around the lower east side and was always dumbfounded by the locals who insisted it was some sort of dangerous ghetto gangland. I still hear anecdotes about it from those living up there. The residential section seems on par with Beechview or Carrick, and if a place like Beechview or Carrick is the worst section of a city, then it's probably not too bad of a city.

Thanks for posting the pics! (even if it was last year).

Since I was most certainly racing Scott, I am ashamed it took me so long.
