I just went to the grand opening for static last weekend. HAd a blast!. It was my first time and dancing was fun. Luckly I got in for free with invites from some friends that knew the owner. I'm really wanting to go to more. Any guys know some other awesome clubs around the way? I don't even know how much it would cost to get in one since my first was free. It seems like they have tons of clubs on the strip. I'm a 22 year old straight male and I don't want to accidently walk into the wrong club. Some guidence would be great guys.

I can't really comment on the specifics of the Pittsburgh club scene as it's not really my thing, but I do know that one plus about Pittsburgh is that clubs don't charge much of a cover charge so think like 5-10 bucks max.

Off the top of my head - barroom Pittsburgh, whim, diesel
All the other ones i knew are closed now (or sold & floated down the river {tequila willies} ha)

Strip, South Side and Station Square are pretty much the Club hubs

Does anyone know if there are any clubs that spin anything other than top 40? I know that Bloomfield Bridge Tavern has a drum and bass night and some gay clubs have some electronic music sometimes but that's about it.

Belvederes, Brillobox, Remedy, Cattivo all have decent DJ sets. Haven't really been to any in a while and a little grungier, but still can be fun.

Static is strictly electronica. I think that makes them alone and it's pretty much their sales pitch right now.

Static bills itself as "Pittsburgh's First Electronic Music ONLY Nightclub" which, if true, puts us about twenty years behind most of the rest of the world but we're used to that.

It's nowhere near Pittsburgh's first, but it maybe the "ONLY" right now

With Static, Headquarters, and Cruze now open with potentially more night clubs on the way the Strip District is really bouncing back at being a nightlife hot-spot. Since I don't much care for Gooski's, which is just up the hill from me, I'm thrilled to have these new options just downhill from me instead!
