Who has the best local news coverage?
KDKA 2 (CBS)?
WTAE 4 (ABC)?
WPXI 11 (NBC)?
WPGH 53 (FOX)?

What is your preference, and why?

I read the paper for news. Local TV news is abysmal, not just here but everywhere. They're just trying to keep you glued so you'll sit thorugh the next commercial.

^^ Agreed, they'll run a 'catch' story, but don't show it until the end to try and keep you glued to the television, not to mention their stupid "we are the best station for news" advertisements that don't make any sense when you are already watching that channel, but if I am watching the news, I flip between stations.

In the morning I usually have on WPXI, mostly because when I first moved here and didn't have cable for 3 years, channel 11 was the only channel that came in clearly all the time. I just got used to them.

WPXI. Simply because they are the only channel so far to broadcast their local news in HD.

On Comcast, channels 210 (WTAE), 211 (WPXI), and 212 (KDKA) are all HD versions of channels 8, 12, and 6, respectively. Never got that "we are the only local HD news channel" statement.

Those channels are the HD versions of NBC, ABC and CBS, but only WPXI broadcasts their LOCAL NEWS in HD. The others broadcast their local news in standard definition.

Who needs 20 minutes of boring repetitive weather reporting? All stations are bad and usually not worth watching. When I do watch it's WTAE because I live in the east and they cover that area best.

I watch channel 11 too, and even more now for the same reason you mention the HD. I would have to say the worse is kdka, it is old looking and out of date and so is the tired cast. I've noticed old people generally watch kdka like my granparents.
