The Century building also has studios from 625-850, however there is a catch... last I heard the waiting list was in the thousands.

Is there a reason you can't/won't live on campus?

Here are your options:
  • Look for a roommate. I shared a 2br Downtown with a roommate for a year and our rent was $1500/month (utilities included). When my roommate moved, and I wanted to get a one bedroom, the cheapest 1br that I could find was $1100. So obviously, getting a roommate opens up a much larger group of possibilities within your price range.

  • Expand your area to include Uptown, Northside, and Southside. You can find reasonably priced apartments near Duquesne in Uptown, though I'd recommend staying relatively close to university, south of Forbes. Southside is easy enough to figure out and it's a manageable walk or bus ride to Duquesne. The North Shore Connector is opening soon, and I've heard that rides from the North Shore stations to Downtown may be free.

  • Spend a little more for a little less. Look into Washington Plaza. You may be able to find a studio there for around $900.

Have you already looked on Craigslist? Have you talked to the Duquesne Commuter Affairs office: Housing Information (http://www.duq.edu/commuter-affairs/housing-information.cfm - broken link) ?
