So I'm going to be staying with some old Pitt friends who live downtown for 2 nights before heading back to Chicago from Philly. Has anyone used the Grant Street Transportation Center for overnight/multiple day parking? If so how are their rates. It looks like $13/24 hrs for daytime and $5/24hrs from 4pm-5am. This is confusing the hell out of me. Maybe I need more coffee. So for 48hrs of parking, it would cost $36? I'm looking to keep my car somewhere safe/indoors because, well, its new. Thankya!

AFAIK there are not issues here with garages that "close" for the night or anything. I've run into that in some cities, at least with some garages. So it should be $13 max for the 24 hour period. The $5 is the reduced night/weekend rate (night would end at 5am, or maybe a little later, but would not allow you to park 4pm to 4pm for $5). I confirmed this on the pricing chart. If your 2 days starts on a Friday evening, then you'd pay only 10 bucks. If one of your 2 days starts on a weekday, or earlier on Friday, or goes into Monday, then that day will be $13, so you could be looking at $18, or max $26 if both days are weekdays.

It could be a good bit cheaper if you parked your car at station square in the garage and took the T over to downtown.

Its cheaper to park at the 9th and Penn garage or at the Blvd. of the Allies/Wood St garage, the daily rate is just $9.75 there.

They are open 24/7, a lot of tenants at Penn/Garrison and other cultural district apartments have leases there.
