Did you argue with them on the value of the car? Apparently you shouldn't just take their initial lowball number on the value; that is negotiable.

I'm happy with what I'm being offered for my car. They actually appraised it higher than what I paid for it when I bought it back in early-2009.

I agree. No one should have power of Attorney. That's a serious document for anyone to have.
