I lived in Brighton heights for quite a while. I love it, the best streets to live on are viruth, Harvard circle, Benton, and even cambronne is nice. Brightens heights is safe to walk in at night, although you'd want to be on a main road, like Brighton road or California avenue. It is safe, you just have to have street smarts. Yes, crime does happen in Brighton heights, but it happens everywhere. The people ate friendly. You should have an alarm installed on your house and car, and befriend you neighbors, so if they see something happening to your house, they will let you know, and you are expected to do the same. I would recommend Brighton heights to live in.

How is the neighborhood now? A couple of years can bring big changes - in either direction.

I moved to Brighton Heights in 2012, a little after this thread started, and I would still recommend it. There haven't been any dramatic changes, but overall it's improved or stayed the same in my view. Fewer empty store fronts and more homes being renovated/rehabbed it seems. The only negative compared to a few years ago is that the coffee shop closed a couple months ago.

Are you thinking of moving here? Are there any specific questions you have?

I moved to this part of town around the same time as Ferraris and agree with his comments.

It's a good neighborhood and feels pretty much the same as it did at the time of the OP.
