So it's not a high crime area? I know nothings perfect. But just trying to keep my kids safe.

Not a high crime area that I know of. A bit dumpy looking, an old working-class little town that has older houses. If you're right there along 65 somewhere you're going to have that highway, then a LOT of railroad tracks (part of the Conway rail yard extends up that far, so these tracks will constantly have rail cars sitting there), then the river. It's a fairly industrial sort of look through there.

It's not a place to live without a car, but other than that it's probably plenty adequate and should be fairly affordable.

Should note, I don't know where you're coming from, but make sure you familiarize yourself with comparable prices in the greater Pittsburgh area. Housing can cost less here compared to other parts of the country, so if you haven't checked around at other places you may find it's not necessarily a special bargain compared to other houses here. It's quite possible you've done this of course. It's just that we'd hate to have people caught off guard. People moving to southwestern PA from out of town can and do overpay for houses sometimes.
