If she was doing her best, she would of had a smoke detector and a babysitter, you never leave your kids alone o ernight when they are both under 6 years old..then she took off and became a fugitive...great mother.

True, but. . . One day I was listening to a talk show on NPR about urban legends. Some young man called in to ask how urban legends spread in the days before the internet. The host said "We used smoke signals". News spreads. People used to read newspapers a lot more. There is TV news, which loves "fluff" stories.

I think what has changed is that if anyone looks behind the "Most Livable" stories to the actual data, they will in fact find that the Pittsburgh economy is in way better shape right now than in most large U.S. metros. That was not always true.

I didn't live here at the time but I remember "Pittsburgh Most Livable!?" being a national story when the first ranking came out. Mostly it was treated as a big joke.
