No, decent people don't do that. He's decent. Just ask him.

In order to show respect for those grieving, I would have to have respect for those grieving. If anyone's behavior has been indecent, it isn't mine.

How sad that his last days were so horribly disfigured by the acts of others.

It's a shame that someone can do so much good for over half a century, then be dumped immediately in a media-driven frenzy.
I totally agree. Some people just want to feel superior. Hindsight is always 20/20.

They say his passing was peaceful, and I'm glad.
RIP JoePa

That totally sums up this forum (the entire Pittsburgh forum) most of the time, in general.

It also sums up pretty much all of the Internet.

Paterno definitely should have done more, but I don't think he was a monster either--and I say this as no great fan of Penn State.

Hi, HW.

Paterno may not have been the doer in this situation, but he fostered an environment in which the actual monster felt safe to **** boys in the *** in the shower room (and who knows where else). This went on for years. Sandusky may even have been pimping these boys out, and I can't help but think this would have been harder for him to do if he hadn't had a virtual OK from whatever powers that be to carry on the way he did at Penn State.

What if this were your boys? What if it had happened to you?

Google "Sandusky prostituting kids" for a good read.
