Thanks, but actually I think a sunny beach in Florida is beckoning.

Around the Heinz Chapel or Cathedral of Learning.

There is a cool asian bridge with landscaping in Highland Park across the street from the new pumping station

The new Point Fountain may be completed in time for your wedding

The Mellon Green Fountain on Grant Street.

Washingtons Landing near the architectually significant bridge as a backdrop.

The Northshore water feature

Our wedding reception was in the Carnegie Museum, and we got some great photos in the Hall of Architecture. I don't know if they make it available for engagement shoots, but you might look into it (particularly since mid-March can be dicey for outdoor shooting). There are also a lot of other great possible settings in the Museum complex (I have seen wedding photos from most of them, I believe).

Another vote for Studio Bash. My sister used them and they were amazing.

I recently saw engagement pictures done in Schenley Plaza at Pitt. They were beautiful.

Other suggestions would be:

Market Square

The fountain in Bessemer Court @ Station Square (although March might be too early for fountains)

West Park on the North Side

The slanting fountains underneath the convention center (again...might not work for March)

Phipps Conservatory

The parklet (not sure of it's offical name) at the intersection of Penn & 7th

A good photographer can make any location look great so pick a place or setting that is significant to you as a couple and go from there. Also, March is such a hit-or-miss month so I would call ahead to ask if you want to include water features or the like in your photographs.

How about a photo in front of a notorious singles bar, with you two in a "hear no evil & see no evil" stance?

Lots of ideas come to mind downtown. If you just asked your photographer to walk around downtown with you, you'd most likely come up with myriad different shots. Here's a few that come to mind:

William Penn - inside and outside
Union Trust Building
6th Ave. between Liberty and Smithfield
Market Square
Renaissance Hotel - inside and outside
City County Building
Courthouse Plaza

I know it doesn't classify as "William Penn-esque architecture" but we got some really cool shots on the Three Sisters (bridges). Made for a very Pittsburgh photo shoot, which was cool 'cause we're both all about the 'burgh.

Hope this helps. Let us know how it turns out.

The College of Fine Arts building on the CMU campus has some pretty great interiors.
