Via outside sources lurking, I was reminded of this publication. It's three years out of date, but it shows some context for history of the various measures of unemployment in Pittsburgh. It's a pretty clear illustration that Pittsburgh had a relatively good recession by any measure of unemployment.

It also notes that U6 is not routinely published for regions. Apparently, the data is available, but not readily.

Not a good week for the region this week when it comes to jobs.
Most of the employees in cranberry will lose their jobs and transfer to the columbus ohio metro office or 25 others.
