Has the OP ever thought of just trying a different Catholic Church? Even just for CCD if not to belong there...

I have read your other thread where you want a Catholic church that will allow your children to attend CCD while you attend mass because you don't have TIME.

If you truly don't have time and feel that hockey is important, but still want your children to receive the sacraments, there is a solution to your problem.

Enroll your children in Catholic school. They'll get all of their religious education and sacraments during school hours.

That way they can still be free for their hockey. Even if hockey is through the school district, they have a right by law to be on the team even if they attend a private school.

PROBLEM SOLVED!

Ummm. My Lord and Savior is important to me and my family. I guess this is not the right place to come for advice. I don't need anymore guilt, thanks. I am not asking the Church to make any allowances for me. I want them to WORK with me in my desire to get my kids their sacraments. You don't know me or know what is in my heart. Games are on Saturdays. Pitt Chick, you are not Catholic, so I think you don't understand what you are talking about. Not nice. All I wanted to know was if anyone knew of an online program. That's it. Sorry to bother you. Sports are not more important than God. I'm glad none of you are my judges. WOW!

My 12 years of Catholic schooling PLUS the sacraments says otherwise!
I know EXACTLY what I am talking about.

This is a rather defensive response to quite honest answers to your question.

What is there to work with? You want your situation to be special. Why should the church make an exception for your kids? What kind of mess would that lead to? How are you NOT asking the Church to make allowances for your family?

I think you feel guilty because you are allowing sports to control your family's life.

Games are on Saturday? Are you aware that many Catholic churches have CCD on a weekday evening?

I would suggest finding another church to get their sacraments done at. When I was younger, St.Hughs church (about 20 minutes or so from Uniontown) had their CCD classes on Monday nights, so that might be an option. I am not sure about the online option, but possibly talk to a priest from another parish to see what you can find out about that. Anyways, best of luck for you and your children

All of the CCD programs I've been around had their classes on Sunday mornings, coinciding with or consecutive to Mass. However, my niece teaches CCD at her parish in Cranberry and it is on Tuesday nights, so there are some that are not on Sundays. I would suggest calling around to parishes in your area and asking when their CCD classes are held.

I just found that class are on Monday nights for grades 6-8 at St. Joseph's in Uniontown.

Here's the calendar: http://parishcalendar.com:8080/67/9908

Something tells me that her problem is that her son is so far behind that he needs to attend classes for the lower grades, which are held on Saturdays.
