I wouldn't directly either. I would say however that those are two separate measures whose interests aren't always aligned. I tend to align myself more toward representative democracy than direct democracy on the spectrum, but that's merely my personal preference. Additionally, I think I have a more of a libertarian paternalistic bent than you do. Accordingly, I'd reject the implied notion that a republic, with its increased susceptibility of political corruption, is less likely to produce either "economic progress" or the "greater good of a community" than a more direct form of democracy would with all of its corresponding difficulties and hindrances.

You used the "Democrat" code-word instead of attaching the "-ic". It's a game that GOP pols and supporters like to play in hopes of somehow de-legitimizing the Democratic Party.

Democrat Party (phrase) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

If you weren't playing those childish games I'm sorry that I misinterpreted your meaning.

If you ask the question why the reassessment process in Allegheny County is such a mess, it is impossible not to reference politics.

However, it doesn't need to get PARTISAN, and as noted I've seen no evidence this is a partisan issue in Allegheny County.

I realize that is a tactic used by Limbaugh and others of his ilk, not my intent.
