The Philly area is more divided, but not in worse shape per se. Montgomery, Bucks, and Chester are tops. Delaware is on par with Allegheny. Philadelphia proper is in poor shape, but that makes sense, given its markedly higher concentration of poverty.

From what I saw, most of Allegheny County's rankings weren't really too far away from the state average in most categories. Besides Philadelphia and Delaware Counties, SE PA did a lot better in the rankings. At least 36% of kids in Allegheny Co. aren't in poverty like in Philly.

Affluence, education, and health go hand in hand. Healthy food and exercise really are luxuries for many people.
