Nobody cares if you are overweight at the gym. That's why you are there to begin with. I've been to a couple of gyms myself - although not Gold's downtown and nobody cared. Honestly. Right now i am fortunate we do have a gym in the workplace, free for the employees. It is more like a school gym with some machine, weights etc but that is enough for me. we have all kind of classes it's just more than enough.
I tried working out at home but as soon as i put the mat down and i assume yoga positions, here's the cat, lying down the mat with me etc, so I know what you're talking about.

I'm a member at the Gold's Downtown and have been for a few years. I agree with the others who have said that you should have no worries at all! I need to lose quite a bit of weight and have never felt any sense of hostility there. I used to worry about this also and now do not give it a second thought. Gold's is good enough. It could use some upgrades, but it is very cheap now - there are fliers around Market Square for very good rates.

Luv, then we should get together and work out there! I'm planning on starting an early-morning exercise routine, and possibly after-work, it just depends on how busy it is then. Not quite positive, that's just my going idea for now, lol

Thanks for your input though, I really appreciate it, everyone!

Was also considering there, but would have to drive and was hoping not to. Thank you, BBrian!

I go to Urban Active in the East End. I have seen some overweight people and older people there many times and no one cares. It's none of anyone's business anyway...
