NORML is not an upstanding organization that protects good law abiding people.

It is a group of lobbyist, just like any other. They aren't out to protect the casual user. They are out to make money and influence politics (and not for the good of the common person either.)

And galefire - I do not believe your story. Not at all. First of all, some of it is completely untrue (heroin doesn't show up in blood after 6 hours? Yeah, right.), which makes me think that everything else you say is untrue.

Opiates are metabolized very fast, but not that fast. Generally, opiates can be detected in the blood for about 48 to 72 hours. However, depending on the complexity of the screening, opiod metabolites can be detected up to several weeks after. I doubt this expensive and complex screening would be used in any typical setting, though.

For just your random drug test, it would be 2 to 3 days.
