Make sure you walk in the middle of the bridge when you walk over. You can walk on the sidewalk anytime.

Park at Station Square and take the Clipper over to the stadium. Then walk back, or take the T.

Yes, fireworks, great food, excellent view, oh, and they play baseball, too.

...I didn't even consider the eats! How could I not think of the food? I'm a horrible Pittsburgher.

Baseball is a plus too, I guess. Meh. :P

Since it is fireworks you need to buy in advance. Any other night I'd walk up because you save 12.40 for 2 types of processing on the internet. Parking tip if you don't mind walking a little and your getting to town after 6. You can park around Allegheny Center or West Park for free. The lots are only 5.00 in the evening and I do agree the Clemente Bridge walk is part of a good time.

You can also buy 1.00 water and 2.00 peanuts as you get to the Clement Bridge and thats about the only thing they let you carry in to the park. Those 2 items in the park will cost you 8 bucks. I'm not saying to do it on the cheap but if your on a budget take advantage of it. One last food thing. They sell slices of Milano Pizza for 2 bucks for cheese and 2.50 for pepperoni as you walk up 6th street. Its fantastic pizza and a good dinner before the game. Go Bucs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree the water and peanuts from the outside vendors are a good deal, but those are not the only food items you can bring in. Bottled water IS the only beverage you may bring in, and it must be in an unopened bottle (i.e., no drinking it while you're walking across the bridge). But you can bring any food you want in, provided it fits in the one 16X16X8 or smaller soft-sided bag you're allowed to bring in. Watch out for those foul balls. They can really rip them into the crowd.

Don't know if you're coming from the So Hills, but if so, park for free, T it in to Wood St. and then walk across the bridge.

The $1 water is a good deal because it's $3.50 inside (and you can refill at a water fountain). And be sure to tip the saxophonist on the bridge. The guy only knows three tunes, but he tries.

I think you'll enjoy the fireworks at PNC Park. Here's footage from opening night versus the Phillies:

I don't have any tips lol, but I hope you have lots of fun! I went to my first game shortly after moving here and it was a blast! I agree with the comments about walking across the bridge. That part was definitely an amazing addition to the experience. I can't wait to go to another game this year. Share a few pics and your experience if you think about!
