I'm going to my first Pirates game tomorrow night I didn't buy tickets yet (is it better to buy in advance or at the gate?) but is there anything I need to know or does anyone have any tips? We're driving in, but haven't decided whether to park downtown and hoof it, or at the stadium, or at Station Square and take the T.

I'm excited!

I'd vote for either parking Downtown and walking (which is very pleasant in decent weather) or the T (which is probably not as pleasant but I am interested in hearing how it works out).

Anyway, have fun!

Edit:

Oh, one tip on tickets--try to get a great Downtown view. It is worth it, even if it is higher up or farther out. We discussed this some here:

You should park at the garage across the river and walk. The trip across the Clemente Bridge is part of the experience.

Another vote for dahntahn parking.

To me there's something special about walking across the Clemente bridge (which will be closed to vehicle traffic) before and after the game...

Tomorrow as in Saturday the 5th?
That's a fireworks night... and those are sellouts. Get your tickets ASAP, if any are available at all. Of course, there is always the scalpers.

Yeah, park over at the 6th St or 9th St garage and walk over the Clemente Bridge.

And it's fireworks night, go buy your tickets now. Pittsburghers come out in droves for fireworks.

EDIT: Pittchick beat me to it. lol

Firework Night is a great time..Tickets will be harder to come by.. There is a good chance it might be sold out ... You can order online and pick up from gate /box office.

I would NOT wait unilt you got down there on Fireworks night.

I always part at the garage over by Finnegins(sp?) wake.. its like 15 bucks and right in the action of everything.

I LOVE PNC PARK.. Every aspect of that stadium is beatiful. I sat in almost every area of the park and NEVER had a bad seat.. It seems like every seat offers a "postcard" "ad" view . IMHO

Tickets bought and printed! WOW, that was easy.

(edit to add) I opted for grandstand so I can see the whole city. Eeek! I'm super excited now! Gotta remember to charge my camera when I get home from work today.

This is so NOT a productive work day, lol

Grandstand under the press boxes are actually my favorite seats.
