Watch the Video from KDKA interviewing a wide demographic and getting their opinions on LGBT marriage after Obama's "Coming Out" if you will.

Notice the pattern here. I wonder if this any correlation to Pittsburgh as a whole
becoming much more progressive as it skews younger?

I'd hope that most people recognize Obama's epiphany as nothing more then a pathetic attempt at pandering with no action to back up his 'personal view' - I mean wow, he shares the same opinion as dick cheney does after 4 years in office, & very conveniently just months before an election. Push for some legislation & I might be impressed - show me you have the cojones to really stand up for something you believe in & not just concerned with retaining his position through empty rhetoric.

Ok Whatever this is not about Obama.....This is strictly about the stark differences in age demographic views on LGBT Marriage within the Pittsburgh region, KEEP IT ABOUT THAT!

I'd much rather have a gay marriage than a dreary one.

I think it has more of a correlation with the reporters' preconception with what an opponent of gay marriage is supposed to look like and what a proponent is supposed to look like.

Interviewees aren't picked randomly, and many that were interviewed were never shown on TV. If Channel 2 wanted to air the interviews of young opponents and older proponents, they could have done that as well.

That, of course, is why gay marriages are such a threat to traditional dreary ones.

You can relax. A good working approximation of the net number of vote switches this will cause is zero.

Why is the government even in the marriage business? Haven't you ever wondered about that?

If it were a purely private ceremony between two people, no legislation would be required one way or another.

When did the government start requiring marriage licenses anyway?

For the same reason that political primary elections are regulated by law: the government has an interest in the proper regulation of the affairs of the hopelessly desperate and desperately hopeful.
