Interesting article. I'd tend to agree Rust Belt Chic is fine as far as rebranding is concerned, but once you have people looking at these cities you have to back it up with real economic opportunities, which for most people means jobs.

Fortunately, Pittsburgh is doing quite well in that area recently.

Funny article said nothing of Pittsburgh, maybe because unlike most they know Pittsburgh isn't Midwestern. I mean why else not mention Pittsburgh since it's much further along in its recovery and speak more directly to what the article is based on???

"Cleveland is a joke, a whipping boy of Johnny Carson monologues..." The article seems a bit dated. By about a decade.

More like two decades. Carson retired in 1992.
