Coming up to Pittsburgh over the 4th of July and staying at the Hyatt Place on the North Shore. I am going to visit family and just enjoy the sights -- do some of the things I have missed around the 'burgh. Can I watch the fireworks from the river on the North Shore?? -- anybody know if you have to grab a spot super early or can help me out with any tips. We used to watch the fireworks from Mt. Washington -- my aunt had an balcony overlooking the city and it was fantastic!

Of course you can watch the fireworks from the North Shore. It is a very popular place to be with all the restaurants and activity. Enjoy.

Staying on the North Shore for the 4th is the best! We have done so in past years, staying extra days for the regatta.

You are right where all the action is... and you do not have to fight traffic when it is all over.
Enjoy!

We sat next to the old bridge pylons near the stadium along the sidewalk our 1st year and they were right on top of us! loud and lots of ash falling but it was awesome!!

We did arrive a bit late but for 2 of us it wasn't hard to find a spot and squeeze in.
