I say it is about time. Some of the stops are so close together that the train barely gets up to speed before stopping again.

It's still rather pathetic that stops will remain no longer than 650 yards apart

Can we cut out one of the two stops on every block in Oakland, while we're at it? I find it quite absurd that a single block can have more than one stop. Heck it's absurd that there is even one stop per block!

This is great. I bet that ride from SHV to downtown will get cut to 30 minutes. Which means commuting from USC or Mt. Lebo to downtown will be less annoying.

I read that statement as no longer than 1300. The farthest distance anyone would have to travel is 650...they'd be somewhere in between the stops. As a sample, not impacted, but I believe the Dormont to Mt Lebo difference is greater than 650.

Having said that, I'm sure the Coast to Belasco distance is well under 650, so there are still situations where stops are insanely close.

This is incredible -- a full, what, two years after swearing that the only cuts left to be made were into bone?

I didn't read where there's any projected fiscal impact to this change, I think it's being made for operational reasons alone.

Thank god-- nothing is more annoying than when the outbound red line stops at fallowfield and then stops 50 feet later at Hampshire. If it is a 2 car train, the second car is literally still in the kelton station when people get off at hampshire!

I say get rid of all low level stops....and low level stops that are essential make them into high platform stations, so you can have Double Trains Service.

Red Line is a sloowwwww slogg of a line. the Updated Overbrook (Blue Line) is much more modern, only stations no stops.
