I too will take world travel!

My point is that having rental properties will keep you from straying very far at all.

Amen to that! Been there, done that, and something always needs attention. If it isn't a situation with the renters, it's something in one of the buildings that needs attention. The choice is own rental properties or travel? Sign me up for travel!

While we're playing the "pick one" game, here's another one: A comfy early retirement or living in a city where salaries are relatively low--pick one. You might be able to do it if you enlisted in the military, but in that case you'd have a hard time staying in Pittsburgh. Besides, what about your plans to raise a couple of kids? If you start the adoption process now, you'll be 28-30 by the time you actually get a baby. Which means you'd be hitting the early retirement years at the same time your kids will be in college. Go for regular retirement--you'll still have plenty of time to enjoy it.

Of course if your costs of living are low enough, that may not be a forced choice.

LOL You know I agree.... to an extent... but in your retirement years things like healthcare and even rising grocery costs can really take a chunk out of your budget. And you can only cut back so much on those things. I mean it's possible...people who lose their jobs at 55 do find ways to manage (pass the cat food meow meow meow...). But it's not a fun way to retire.

Actually, as the evening is passing I've decided to change my response. What the heck do I know about what someone else will do in their lifetime, anyway. Yes I was just teasing, but when I think about it, who am I to say you have to make a choice? For all I know, maybe SCR will do all those things. And if he does... I'll be the first to give a

Philly is very dangerous the people are rude ala long island. Oh did I mention the crime? This past week a group of criminals instructed a Rottweiler to attack a city cop and it mauled him. Cops were shot at near temple in north Philly and a shooting death in northern liberty last night. Also to go somewhere nice with a decent school district you need to go way out in the burbs and it's a high cost of living. You cannot enjoy a sports event there because the fans are so rude. Pnc park on the other hand is so nice family friendly as is Pittsburgh. The thugs can keep Philly. I also believe Pittsburgh is a nicer looking city from an architectural standpoint.
