I hope people are jesting about having their cars baby-sat.

Although one time I went out to a hockey game with a relative and he parked on the street rather than in the lot. The first person that walked by he pulled aside and said, "hey partner, could you watch my car for me?" then handed him some cash.

My first thought was, "wait people do this in real life?". The car was still there when we came back so what do I know.

Nope, according to the original Men in Black, the concept of an inflatable chauffeur was first introduced in the rival NYC.

SkyMall used to sell a product called "Safety Man" that you were supposed to put in a chair near a window to scare off thieves (or perhaps attract those who favor blow-up dolls, I'm not sure).
